Osai Retrofits, Osai 10 Series CNC Control Range

10/110 A further addition to the 10/Series family, the new model 10/110 for the control of 3 interpolating axes and spindle is announced.

The innovative feature of this new model is its highly integrated packaging, the result of careful and thorough research, by OSAI, to keep up with technical developments and the increasing integration of electronic components. The entire numerical control complete with 72 local I/O for field management, the operator panel with a TFT 10.4" colour display and the operator console now only take the space occupied by the operator panel alone

All CNC auxiliary components have been integrated in a single hardware module which makes installation extremely easy and eliminates the cables usually necessary between CNC and operator panel; this implies lower costs for the entire system (wiring and electric cabinet) Osai Retrofits

These advantages of the new 10/110 add to the innovative features common to all models of Series 10 CNC: hardware architecture based on a standard PC, object-oriented software architecture allowing customisation for specific applications, in terms of technological algorithms and man - machine interface.

The new 10/110 is also available with additional distributed I/O modules, connected by means of high-speed optical fibre, and an Ethernet communication channel for bi-directional Mini-DNC with integrated standard client-server functionality. Program and data transfer between the CNC and network connected PCs as well as trouble-shooting and monitoring of machine functionality are thus greatly simplified

10/510 Following in the footsteps of the 10/110, the new 10/510 further accelerates the modular integration and configuration flexibility by combining a numerical control and a PC integrated with the operator panel.

The innovative feature of the new model is a revolutionary "building-block" concept based on elementary hardware modules that can be combined into different configurations.

Assembling all the CNC components into one hardware module makes installation easier and eliminates all the cables connecting the CNC and the operator panel. This immediately reduces costs in terms of wiring and cabinet space.

Again, with the introduction of the 10/510, OSAI offers its clients a new more powerful and flexible CNC while preserving full compatibility with earlier products and enhancing the current 10/310 numerical control configurations

10/585 A further addition to the 10/Series family, the new model 10/585 for controlling up to 32 digital axes (24 analog) and 24 independent and simultaneous interpolation processes.

- 64 bit microprocessors featuring a processing speed 4 times greater than its predecessors in this range and a higher integration of components into fewer electronic boards.

- OSAI innovative approach to the new polynomial interpolation algorithms for high speed machining requirements. The well-known and tested mathematical concepts (spline) usually applied to the tool path geometry only, have been extended and applied to the dynamic movements in order to achieve high speed cutting with a finish closer to the mathematical model.

- standard digital SERCOS package (including motors and drives) allows for better utilisation of the new OSAI polynomial interpolation potential and for results in terms of speed and finish that were inconceivable just a short time ago.

- distributed I/O modules for field management are available through the standard INTERBUS communication channel which is integrated in the Osai 10 Series CNC. Highly configurable basic I/O modules, available for 2 to 16 I/O points, optimises the total number of I/O and by allowing positioning near to actuators provides the best possible machine wiring.

These advantages of the new 10/585 add to the innovative features common to all models of Series 10 CNC: hardware architecture based on a standard PC, object-oriented software architecture allowing customisation for specific applications, in terms of technological algorithms and man - machine interface .

The new standard 10/585 CNC is available with the Ethernet communication channel integrated into the CNC as well as into the WinLink (operator panel). Program and data transfer between the CNC and network connected PCs as well as trouble-shooting and monitoring of machine functionality are simplified by bi-directional Mini-DNC and standard integrated client-server functionality.
